This simple country house is nestled into a vineyard, with a small garden and oak meadow in between.

A mulberry tree courtyard creates an outdoor sanctuary, a gathering space for meals on hot days. Native valley oaks and live oaks provide additional shade and screening from the road, while old olive trees serve as accents and help to separate the spaces. Recycled old grape stakes and gnarled vines from the vineyard were used for fences and screens. A mix of colorful perennials forms a seasonal border garden.
